Jana and Jette are the founders of Pattern Beuys. The small collective has been working with different materials for years and tries to show them in a new light with their LED installations. Jette, who had spent a few semesters at the art academy in Düsseldorf, where she made a furious graduation with her performance “Is this an artist, or can she leave?”, met Jana in a boutique shop in Cologne Ehrenfeld.
The former advertiser, who left the agency world behind after a burnout and first turned to a craft that she learnt in the burnout clinic, the felting, offered a successful antipole to Jette’s uncompromising artistic existence.
The room “The Pattern Beuys”, which the two have installed as a cosy studio, swaps fat for a bold light installation and transfers the works of the master they both admire into the present day. The Pattern Beuys are of course constantly on the move to put everything in the right light, leaving room for your fat thoughts!
All seminar rooms in Cologne are equipped with a variable media wall individually designed for the room, which creates a second workspace in seconds. In addition to an espresso machine and a fridge for your refreshments, it also has a 65-inch screen for your presentations.
