Roshan, is the luminous model pupil of the artist group “Illuminaten Calvin 3000”, which was founded as a secret society around the Kunsthochschule für Medien in the 10s. Their declared aim was to create a network of light that would run through the city and only be visible to aeroplanes flying overhead from a great height.
Various lines and coloured surfaces showed a large-scale light pattern by the artist Piet Mondrian, who was greatly admired by the group and who considered his approach to occupying three-dimensional space to be perfect.
Roshan, who provided the ideas for this project, set up his light studio in the shared apartment at the same time, in which he dissolves Mondrian’s primary colours and uses his LED palette to make Mondrian “Grid” glow. Whoever enters the room becomes a luminous idea in Roshan’s “The Grid”.
