The artist’s blueprint
After a long educational journey through the domiciles of well-heeled ladies in France, Y. – a life artist and artist in residence by profession – recently moved into the Hyperspace Loft.
The study of savoir-vivre came to an abrupt end when Y’s last patron, Madame Klein, deprived by Y. of her possessions and her best years, set Y. down on the streets of Marseille with her easel and beret.
After this experience, Y. decided to turn his back on art for the time being and treat himself to a break from wine, sea and easel above the rooftops of Cologne.
In keeping with his/her nature, Y. could not help but celebrate the move into the loft in style. Y. invited Jette and Janna from the studio to the inauguration party. Jette and Janna from the “Pattern Beuys” studio next door. Together they had a heated discussion about colour theory and, after the fourth glass of absinthe, applied the theory to practice – the walls of the loft’s own kitchen.
Drunk with creative exchange, the view and the absinthe, Y. had a dream the following night: in the swirl of colours, a blue crystallised that was unsurpassed in its fullness and richness. A luminous ultramarine – according to the principles of colour theory, the colour of prudence, objectivity and clarity!
The move into the loft, originally planned as a break, marked the beginning of Y’s most creative period.
The break became a blueprint and the loft became the Ultra Loft. An urban space that provides vision and clarity.
At least until Yves dreams up a new object of study.
